i have just bought a 1999 hijet van,it is gas and petrol,my problem is the accelerater is so stiff,i have been told that it is because it is gas and petrol,also it is a very clean van,and i would like to catch any rust now,what are the worst areas on these vans to go rusty
Hi-Jet rust
Sorry dont know much about the gas and petrol theory but i do know they rust on the wheel arches.
Flip back the front seats and look there.
Rears take a lot of spray and have little protection
Have all the arches high powered jet washed and then closely inspect for signs of rust or blistered underseal.
If you see anything of concern, get it undersealed again using air gun shutz like stuff, not the sticky aerosol crap sold in spares shops.
