fourtrak electrics

Forum:

i have a 1994 fourtrak2.8tdx and when driving in heavy wind/rain recently the drivers side indicator bulbs have come on for no reason and stayed on,in two separate occasions they went off when either a door was slammed or when alarm/immobiliser was set,but tonight i had to disconnect the battery earth lead. many thanks for any help or input

Indicator relay

Try renewing the indicator relay or borrow another and try it in your fourtrack. Relays do not last indefinately. When slaming the door the shock could be releasing the relay switch.

wiring loom

this happened on mind it was the wiring loom which had worn away and was earthing, have a look behind the back bumper and see what kind of condition it is in. hope this helps

ben

earth

sounds identical to my prob last year,my solution was the earth wire on nearside rear light cluster the wire was attached to a screw and had come loose.
