Forum:
Hi there,
I'm having little problem with my L reg Fourtrack rocky. The other day I founded it on the drive with a pool of diesel under its. My son and I got the car round to my workshop. My son sets to and started ripping out all the old fuel line from the back of the car. The fuel line that ran from the front of the car had already been replaced with rubber type of pipe before I got it. The fuel line at the back was the rusty old metal type which was the part that was leaking. When I asked my son which pipe from the fuel tank went to which pipe at the front of the car he just said, "I doubt know!" I gave him a pat on the head and told him he was a good boy then I went an banged my head on a brick wall to make me feel better! KIDS!
I've looking in my manual but there is no reference there which one of the pipes runs to the engine and which one returned fuel from the engine. At the tank there are two metal pipes coming out, one is larger in diameter to the other I have assumed that the larger diameter pipe is the one that carries the fuel to the engine? Can anybody tell me if I'm right.
At the nice day,
Greeny.
FUEL LINES
Turn the engine over for a split second, it should spirt out of the feed pipe.
Usualy feeds have bolted together lines and returns have push on hoses with clips.

pipes!
Good day,
Thank you for your reply. Hovever,as you know the diesel fuel tank as two metal pipes coming out of it. One is to supply fuel to the engine, whilst the other pipe is to return Un-used fuel back to the fuel tank. I've got some of this rubberised piping they supply now and connected up both outlets from the fuel tank. The car runs no matter which way round I put the pipes. However, if I have connected up the return pipe on the fuel tank to the inlet pipe on the engine there would not be a filter on this pipe in the fuel tank and therefore I could suck up rubbish from the bottom of the tank and clogg the pipe up.
So then, do you know which of the short pipes coming out of the fuel tank is the supply pipe and which is the return pipe?
By the way, is plastic rubberised fuel line pipe is very good. The new rubberised pipe I got from an industrial supplier. It has a pressure rating marked on it of 300 and an internal bore of 6 mm. I have used Jubilee clips to hold it in place.
Have a nice day,
Greeny.
