Forum:
Ive been having problems starting my sportrak. I originaly thought it was the battery. This is not the case. I have discovered the immobiliser circuit board is knackered and no longer works. To get a replacement part its over 200. So i want to disable the immobiliser. I have connected it so that it starts and turns off, but i have one cable left, a brown one, from the neutral connection on the battery. I cannot find a home for it. The car works perfectly fine but when you turn it of there is no power to keep the clock going and central locking etc. I presume this is causing a break in the circuit. Doe anyone know where i connect this cable to?
if it is running to the
if it is running to the negative terminal on your battery, it is just that, a negative connection for something related to your clocks i presume. i would see if you can find where you took it off, and see if you immobiliser is still disconnected while you reconnect it.
otherwise, rip the clocks out and create a negative earth yourself from their negative terminals to an earth point somewhere on the car/chassis or direct to the battery terminal.
could you pm me some instructions on how you removed the immobilser? i am having snags with mine as my battery drains after a few days, and ive found the immobiliser and the clock is all thats on after engine shutdown.
any snags let me know
