Hi cold somebody help me a little I strip down a tank from my HIJET as was seam leaks present, and recieve new one problem I lost my diagram where I has drow conection of hoses for fuel. also fuel pump is instaled into tank directly
Here I had problem also with indicator of low petrol. I don't know where look for fault to sender of dash board. I will be please to any help and sugestion

hello there,
just out of curiosity have you rang daihatsu and checked the recall list for your vehicle because the fuel tank is a fault on hijets and they replaced my whole unit free of charge! thats why you always get people on the site with a number of tanks which they have a acquired from closed down dealers. worth a try.

He's right you should contact a Daihatsu dealers.
Should be the same even if you are overseas.
I had my 1.3 tank changed twice!!
First dealers - since shut down, put a different Hi-Jet tank on, not sure which or why.
It still fitted but had trouble with the fuel level indicator. Second dealers said the capacity was less, they fitted the correct tank.
They also changed one of the front wheel hubs, said they had been advised by Daihatsu to check them, another unofficial recall maybe??

yeah they checked my front hub too. something about incorrect torque settings from the factory(which they assure me has never caused any accidents!) and also something about the speedo. only the tank faulty on mine and it would seem that the fuel guage has never been brilliant and when the tank is low the light comes on during braking!

petrol tank leak 2003 1.3 hijet LPG 4x4 efi
I have a similar problem with the petrol tank leaking, i took it to a dealer a few years ago and they said it had not been recalled, i have used the LPG since but need to now fix the tank before i sell the van.
it only leaks when parker pointing down a hill. so not sure exactly where it leaks any advice would be welcome kind regards John

turned out to be a cracked rubber inlet pipe which fits between the petrol tank and the fuel inlet pipe (where you put the petrol in)
tried to repair but no good. ridiculously expensive to replace though.

yep thats another main one incorrect torque setting, i check my one and found it incorrect to what there should be....
also the speedo what the problem be with tht is when you tend to drive off the speedo dial wonder up and down very fast, but once ur onto 20/30mph it stops doing it and gives you the right read out......

I'm afraid but circumstance push me buy new tank, I don't think I will be able get a repay my new bought tank.
well in home await a body undersealant then I will paint it to protect any corosion and other exchange in future.
My HIJET is running well it was bought as ex MOD wehicle in July 2006, with only 21000 miles on tacho. I will run cross MOD service sheet to look if was on call out check. And also contact nearly supporter.
