anyone got any tricks to cleaning alloys

Forum:

My alloys are (someone said pitted) I have tried wet & dry 600 but doesn't seem to work, anyone got any simple ideas to getting them back to some sort of normality??

Wonder Wheels

Best product I found is called Wonder wheels, you have a little pot and a brush with it, you put it on, and then use a hose to get it off. Don't get it near any plants or grass though if u want them to live as spill any on them and they die instantly.

Polished alloy wheels are nor

Polished alloy wheels are normally coated in a thin clear coating to protect their appearance from new. This coating eventually breaks down, allowing oxidation of the metal. You may find through enquiries with tyre and wheel shops, a specialist who does custom polishing. They will actually remove the remaining coating, and using a buffing machine, and gradually finer rouge, polish anything alloy to as high a finish as you like. The only downside is they then need constant work to keep their appearance. You CAN do it yourself, with a bit of care and effort. An electric screwdriver/ drill can be made to do the job.
