Work shop manuals (Lack of)

Forum:

I have recently purchased a Daihatsu Hi Jet 1300 EFI, which requires some mechanical work on the engine, but i have been astonished to find there is a lack of technical information on this vehicle. I have been reviewing the information posted on this site and find other people also have experienced the same problem. Considering the number of these vehicles sold in the UK over the last ten years, this lack of technical information is an absolute disgrace. I would therefore welcome any constructive suggestions as to how this problem can be rectified. Some suggestions have been made but has anything been done to correct this? I would appreciate any up to date information from any source to see whether this problem can be overcome. Are these vehicles so technically advanced that there specifications remain trade secrets.

Yours sincerely

Manuals

Harvey has a complete set of manuals, but he's quite busy and it's a big scan/photocopy job. M4X and I have partial manuals on CD, which give a lot of info on the engine. Perhaps you might find these helpful. If you would like one, private msg me a postal address and I will send you one.

I agree with your comment, as do the others on here. The problem is that nobody knows what to do about it, and they have little time to make the necessary phone calls to fully investigate this. I'm afraid for now, you might just have to settle with the collective knowledge flying around on this forum.

Canadian eh!

copies of manuals

Have you tried looking on ebay?
pretty much everything I've owned there has been someone selling a copy (of a copy of a copy) of the manual on CDR for a few quid.
