ok
a few months ago the uber trak (thug r.i.p) died after a bit of driving in Wales and i had to be wrecked back to nth east scotland well i checked the belt, filter and engine and found out i was getting no fuel to the injectors so i assumed (yes i know what that means) i had killed the pump, wwwwweeeeeeeeelllll i left it sitting out there in the cold all winter with half its guts hanging out (cruel i know but hey i was busy) while i decided what to do, i managed to locate a replacement pump only to find out it was of a non-turbo model and as much use as hens teeth (cost me a tenner umh)
so as the sun was out today for its standard 10 minutes i am think of stripping down the pump and have a look see well first of changing the stop valve to see if that cures it but and here is the rub i have zero knowledge on daihatsu pumps and the workshop manual is about as good as yesterday's paper so if anyone can spare me the time and explain how the damn things work ie vacuum or direct pump or whatever the system is it would be gratfully received i mean i dont want to scrap it just yet, its still got half a tank of good fuel in it and it's only done 200,000 miles ish
and i am getting a bit miffed at the shogun
