Hi All,
The brakes on my Spotrak seem to be sticking. I replaced the pads but still the same thing happening so i pressume its the calipers that are sticking. Im not that mechanical but any ideas ?? could be something simple on the caliper thats causing this or do i need to replace them
Also when driving you can hear that the brakes are rubbing against the discs and slowing the car down but I hit the brake pedal a few times the calipers seem to realease ???
My sportrak is J reg and in really good condition and im having to sell it as getting a company car. So do you thinks its worth putting it on Ebay as it is advising brake probelm ie. sold as faulty As knowming my luck it sounds expensive to fix and seem pointless if Im having to get rid !! lol
Any help would be much appreciated :o
Cheers,
Si
Copper grease.
If you are aware of procedures, you could smear a little copper grease onto the pad arms and calipers. Copper grease has a very high melting point ... get the correct copper grease from your experienced local DIY motor shop. However to get the job done correctly you will need to remove the pads and also access the caliper pistons and you will probably discover the fault in dismantling.

Hi Si,
Well it seems to me you probable need to investigate the problem which might need a strip down of calipers or a replacement but you seem to be in a catch 22 pos'n if you dont won't the work sell it but advise the buyer about the brakes take into account the cost of repair and be willing to knock it off the selling price.
On mine I did'nt mess around with it I just replaced the whole caliper just in case it stuck in on a emergency.
