Wipers stopping.

my wipers on my 93 sportrak are for some reason stopping on
intermittent,and normal speed,but dont stop on fast speed.
could some one give me an idea to the cause,or what to check first.

Try checking this first...if its similar to 4 track there should be a small clear plastic 'box' attached to steering column..in the track you have to remove the cowling that houses the ignition gubbins.

Prise off the lid of the small plastic box ..there should be contact strips..one for each wiper setting..I reckon the intermittent and normal settings are dirty...clean them with a fine emery board..you know the ones the wife of girlfiend uses for her nails..

Oh ang on I think I am talking about the contacts for the lights here..look at the end of the wiper stalk..down near the steering column..I reckon there will be a similar arrangement for the control of the wiper settings.

All i've tryed at the moment is cleaning the earth lead,also spraying the area with damp start,(notice they mainly give a problem in damp weather) will check and try what you said,only waiting for a dry day.
