Rear Shocks F75

Forum:

Need to change one of the rear shocks on my F75 . I have a good spare adjustable type to replace the offending item with. Problem is that once I`ve removed the inspection cover in the back and removed the electric adjuster the nut I need to undo to remove the shock is seized solid/part rusted away. Loads of plus gas hasn`t helped . Is there any easy way to get this nut off and remove the shock. I`ve got a spare bracket that the shock fits into btw , can I just chisel off the nut or something similar without wrecking anything else??

Shocking

Cut the nut off carefully, i use a die grinder with diamond dental bits to allow access to this confined area, but a chisel will do the job.

Replace shockers as pairs only, not singles, and when installing them coat all threads with a liberal coat of copper grease. Assemble the shocker and if possinle, put a piece of heat shrink tubing oner the greased thread and apply some heat to shrink it. Should you have to replace them again the job is so much easier.
