i own an m reg rocky and when i'm driving i can go up the gears fine but when i come down the gears i can't hit second without hitting first befor hand i have asked 3 mechanics about this and all have told me three differant answers please someone help my mob no is 07917221254

Like most vehicles you can never put a car in first when slowing, but what i find with the rocky first and second are awkward when slowing, - low gearage? its odd you go to first before second, i wonder if the shaft nut is loose? not sure, however - word of warning youve just given your mobile number to the world!

Try double-declutching.
Could be the synchro is on the way out or that the oil has been changed to straight 90.
As soon as I put 75W-90 back in the box on my vehicle, second was as good as normal.
BTW, the mobile number is now out there forever, because Google will have cached it, so even if you delete it right now, it can be dug out of Google again.
