Forum:
Not a problem really, rather a niggle. The Passenger front seat in my fourtack flexes on the back and over a long journey causes extreme discomfort to Elaine. I have checked the seat but found nothing broken or even undue movement, but I need to rectify the problem. My Fourtack is a 92TDX. Does anyone know whether there are any more comfortable seats fitted into fourtacks apart from buying new after market seats? Are the seats fitted into the later model independants more comfortable and are they a straight swap with my earlier model? Need to solve this prior to driving to North Wales in June. Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil

Hi
Did you see these on the (in)famous Ebay? Item no. 320247372019.
Apparently from an M reg.
Apologies in advance if you've seen them already.

Pug's
Fitted Peugeot 405 seats into the old beast, this was an extreme vehicle, these were comfortable, free, and easily fitted; being reclining seats they have a lot of adjustment.
Several owners of Fourtraks saw them and wanted them fitting, buy two from a breakers complete with their subframes (bottom runners) and locate them into the Fourtrak. Sit in them before drilling and fastening down to check for height, if required use box section to lift them.
Drill the box section if applicable and fit the seats to them using nuts and bolts, drill the floor and fasten the box section to the floor, on the underside of the floor use thick penny washers to spread the load.
Thick padded seats, full adjustment, and a range of colour schemes to choose from; and fantastically comfortable for a full days off roading.
Seats
My experience of the later Sportraks is that the seats on the newer models are worse than those on the older ones, cost cutting by Daihatsu. Not sure on the Fourtrack. I recently saw a Landy fitted with Metro GTI seats which were better, in my opinin, than those from the PUG's in that they are more robust and the drivers side had an adjustible Lumber support. Having owned a few of these little rockets I can confirm that the seats, if nothing else on the car, are good and comfy. Like wise I am sure these could be fitted provided you had the subframes and perhaps a bit of box section to raise them on.
