YRV fuel computer and turbogauge

Forum:

Hi,

I have fitted a new product called the Turbogauge to my YRV turbo. This basically like the scangauge ii but with extra functions, such as a car black box and a clock. I have now confirmed that the YRV turbo gets about 25mpg round town on short journeys. How does this compare with to others? It fits neatly in the hole under the radio.

I have a spare brand new one available for

Looks good. Having had a look at the link you provided there appears to be now an alternative to the scangauge 2. The only thing I could'nt see that the scangauge 2 can do is change the backlit display colour, apart from that and the turbo gauges ability to be updated by USB (The Scangauge doesn't have this feature)is a good feature. Although the Scangauge too can record MPG and travel as well, as well as having something called the XGAUGE feature which I believe allows you to access other features such as boost preassure etc.. Haven't looked at this yet as I am well pleased with what i can already display. Smile

I think an update for the backlight will come, but its white by default. I don't drive a lot at night and when I do I probably wouldn't be checking the readings much any way. The clock feature is good for some cars that don't have an analogue one like the yrv.

What MPG figures do you get from the scangauge round town?

A possible 3rd alternative....

Approx 2-3x dearer than a Turbo or Scangauge, but looks good.

MPG scangauge2

On the scangauge2 the mpg is in US gallons dont know if yours is the same? but if you work it out into uk gallons my yrv turbo is getting around 35 mpg uk so you will need to look into what yours is?

1.2 US gallons = 1 UK gallons

hope this helps

mpg units

thanks for that info, on the Turbogauge the units settings options are metric or imperial which is UK not US gallons. I should be able to prove this when I fill up next.

Tubogauge

Just bought one of these - if you configure your fuel tank capacity in litres then convert to gallons you will find they are US gallons!!

Looks as though the Turbogauge you bought appears to be a re-brand of one I have just seen on E-bay:

yes the features sound

yes the features sound similar so might be based on the same software, however this one looks a lot bigger than the turbogauge, so not sure it would fit below the stereo on the yrv.
