TERIOS MK3 - change stereo

Forum:

I just changed the stereo in my Mk3 TERIOS - was very surprised how easy it was!
Sick to death with cd's rattling around everywhere I bought a Clarion SD player. Just high quality radio and SD card player with Aux in.
Then I got an adaptor kit - both from Clarionworld direct - good prices.
Also had to get a harness conversion, even though according to Daihatsu, it wasn't needed!!.
What really surprised though, was that the centre console/panel just unclips ( two tiny slots at bottom FIRST). Four screws and out comes the old one,20 minutes fiddling about to position the new one to line up with fascia and Bob's yer uncle-DONE!
So anyone out there who wants to change the stereo in a TERIOS but thought it would be a "two day job" - IT AIN'T!!!

Music on the move

Hi all.

This post got my interest. I still use a tape player /radio, and the tape deck is on its last legs, due to its postion below the ash tray (pipe smoker). Comment about using a SD card caught my eye, assume one transfers via computer.

And it would save all those tape cassetes lying about the truck, and getting chewed up. the same would go for CD's of which we have many and keep saying we should get a CD player, transfering to a little SD card has a lot for it.

Any one care to post any info on this system, any one care to write a starter article for inclusion in the "How it Works" section, just the basics on ICE.

Sorry 'bout delay - haven't

Sorry 'bout delay - haven't been on here for a bit - been rather busy.
The SD card business is SOOOO simple!!!
I'm assuming you have a computer(?!) You will probably have Windows Media. You will need t6his and a programme called Daniusoft mp3 WAV converter (Free, CLEAN software - just download it).

All you need to do is "rip" your cd's onto your library in Windows Media, until you have what you want.
When doing this make sure you do it in WAV LOSSLLESS as this doesn't
degrade the quality.
Now convert to MP3 using the conversion software ( a bit time consuming but this way you get really good quality).
This will give you an output file - "send" this to the SD card and away you go....

hey, what kind of headunit

hey, what kind of headunit did you put in? did you have to get a 'double din' type is did you fit a 'standard' size unit in?
if you could give any kind of step by step walk through for getting the unit out and i had a look but didnt fancy roding in there with a set of tool and breaking the lot.

cheers,
T

stereo change

I put in a CLARION single din unit with a "pocket" under, using an adapter kit - all came from Clarionworld.co.uk
VERY easy.
Looking at original fitting: the silver surround has two SMALL holes either side at the bottom. Using TWO small screwdrivers or similar
push gently in these holes and the hole un it will pull out!!!!
NOTE; when replacing it after change START from the bottom or it won't go back in.
To take the old stereo out is simply 4 philips sccrews - but make sure your scredriver has a MAGNETIC TIP!!!!!!
