poor running when cold on my sporty!!!

Hi,
my sporty is a great starter, but!!!
when i first set of driving it, if i try to acelerate to hard, the engine power dips, and wont pull, if i ease back of the acelerator and pull away slowly, no problems!!
once the sporty has warmed up, it runs fine,
any ideas what is happening?

Most likely the temperature sender faulty, this will allow the vehicle to start OK, but gives poor performance when cold as it puts a default setting into the ECU as it is in limp home mode.

If it is working correctly it should have a variable resistance rather than a default resistance, with the default resistance it is set to allow the engine to run fairly normally when hot so you might not notice any difference.

Cannot remember where its located, Nev K might post a picture if you ask him nicely, but it will be in the cylinder head near the thermostat housing.

Available from most car shops or motor factors as they fit many Daihatsu and Toyota models.
