your opinion on tyres i can buy

Forum:

my fourtrak has normal size road tyres 215/75/15 at present and have to be replaced as they have no grip in the wet.

ive found some good all terrain tyres for the right price, but they are
195/75/15 would these fit on the rims i have and would they loose are performance through this 20mm loss of width .

thanks

im not concerned about how they look more performance for cost.

one more thing what are snow

one more thing what are snow chains like would they be good also in heavy mud situation.

Snow chains

Hi.

I have seen "snow chains" used in offroad applications, in a forestry situation, a pain to fit for ocaisional use. These Land Rover's never left the site, and rarely came out of low range

Bit more of a sportrak fitment

They are quite small for a fourtrak, will fit your rims though no prob but if you want grip go bigger, years ago when i ran on standard 215's on my fourtrak they would slip and slide but going up in stages like 235/75 r15 or 31-10.50 15 (255/75 r15) i found just normal road going grip was vastly improved, of course you also want decent rubber wellys too, there is a difference in the rubber tyre quality.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

255/75 r15

I'm running Kumho tyres 255/75 r15 on my fourtrak, i'd like something which looks a little meaner, and gives alot more grip any ideas? I've looked at the BF goodrich all terrain which i'd like but the biggest i can find is 235's.

The other issue is the load

The other issue is the load rating, many of these do not have suitable load ratings for your vehicle. In off road situations such as sideslopes they can come off the rim because they do not bed as well as 215's.

Several cases have been reported of this occuring.
