Automatic 4WD?

Forum:

Does anyone know if Daihastu ever made a 4WD with an automatic gearbox? If so, what & when, and has anyone got one for sale?

Also, did they ever produce an MPV-style vehicle along the lines of Delicas/Townaces, etc, but a little smaller? I could swear I've seen something like that about, somewhere...

To some folks, an automatic gearbox in a 4X4 might seem sacriligious, or just a plain waste of time, but as I'm a high mileage engineer/driver, I'm getting a bit crocky with my knees & hips, so I'm looking to ease my Sportrak over to an auto, either by trading-in, or even converting, if possible/necessary.

Any info/advice most welcome!

Only thing I've heard of is

Only thing I've heard of is the American Rocky (I belive). It's a Sporti with a 2ltr engine and an auto box (if that's right I WANT one). I would imagine it makes a brilliant little off roader. Auto is better for off road and towing in my oppinion. Just the fule consumption that tends to hurt. My wife has a Delica. With auto box and LSD in the back it will chuge over some terain on mud and snow tyre which my Sporti makes a meal of in her agresive off road shoes.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
