My 2002 1.3 petrol Hijet recently bought goes like a bomb for miles and then all of a sudden will die as if fuel problem, this happens at between 20 and 40 mph, accelerate and it goes fine again ... 2 garages and an auto electrician have been unable to resolve this problem ... has anyone the answer please. ... thx peter pep
Sudden Cutout
If the 1300 is like the 993, then look at the fit of the oil filler cap into the rocker box cover.
I had a similar cutting out problem but I put a rubber seal onto the cap and the cutting out went away.
On the 993 the pressure in the rocker box cover contributes to a fuel manifold pressure feed to the ECU.
I used a rubber band to test the theory before delving into more perminant arrangement
