Music on the move !!!!!!

Forum:

Hi all.
My radio/tape unit has given up, probably not help being below the ash tray ( pipe smoker) has started to chew up tapes.

So the question is - All I want is the ability to play music, no radio, cassettes can be transfered to any medium via the computer such as a SD card or usb drive, ( no CD drives)hopefully. I can place the unit in the radio slot in a Fourtrak. To run the standard speakers with out the need for a amplifier, just a basic system. So any of you car boys who are into ICE can you advise/suggest a reasonably priced idea. like a Ipod system. Or am I off the wall with this idea !!!!!

Try an i-pod with a

Try an i-pod with a connection to the vehicles power supply, ans a connection to the vehicles speakers if they are compatible. One plug adaptor should do it and you can choose your music, easily removed, and can be screened from the pipe smoke.

Must admit i like off roading with the 10 stack CD and music of my choice.

Thanks "assassin"

Think this is the way for me to go, have no need or room for amp or big speakers, just want a cheap and cheerful, system. The old pipe ash gets everywhere !!!!! carpets are moth proof !!!!. Thanks for the suggestion, have found lots of I -Pod type jobbies at reasonably prices.

Oooooooh where do we start ews

I could write you a huge shopping list of superb things to buy to make your trak rumble like mine lol, are you into amps, bass cannons and 6x9's lol, any way, here is a sample of what I did once until I drowned it, get an amplifier for the truck, nothing major 100 watt output or sonething, speakers to match, now you need to know wiring a bit, cos without a car head unit it won't turn the amp on, so you have to wire via a switch, make sure the amp has rca inputs for sound, now I used my psp, but now any mp3 player will do as long as it has a speaker jack outlet and a volume control!! get the jack cable that goes from the headphone input to rca outputs ( very cheap, buy anywhere, simple) plug into amp, hey presto, mp3 sound, no car head unit at all, this can all be done for about 20 quid via ebay or second hand shops, hope you understand my gobble Wink

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
