Hi. I took my 'trak off-roading on sat, but it keeps jumping out of 4 wheel drive Low range. It is fine on the road in 2h and 4h. The gearbox is fine in all ranges. I can keep it in low range by holding the stick is position. I think its a little ball and spring that should hold the transfer case in 4l? Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how to fix it?
I have a old gearbox/transbox and I was going to swap the transfer box over, but it looks like a horrible task. Any tips for this if I have to swap them?
Cheers.
The selector rods are located
The selector rods are located within their own housing on top of the gearbox, it sounds like the detent spring or ball has gone.
I replaced the whole transbox
I replaced the whole transbox today, was relativity easy. The oil from the gearbox was very gray and shiny, doesn't look good. I also discovered I need 2 new brake cylinders......*sigh*
Jumping out of 2H
My F75, jumped into neutral a few days ago, its the third time this has happened, but the first in over 1500 miles. The only other times it has happened i was also in 5th gear
I was cruising at 60mph in 5th when the transfer box lever fell into neutral, i know i can't put it back in 2H until stationary and lost all power, fortunately the road was clear coasted into a layby put it back in 2H and carried on my way. Is this a common fault? is the transfer box shot?? Any help much appreciated - supported to be traveling upto Scotland tomorrow evening
