I have a W reg fourtrack and love going puddles,the bigger the better, but my fourtrack doesn't. I went through quite a few after a heavy storm and the engine started to die on me with the lights coming on the dash.I managed to fire it up again while still coasting but we live near the Whittlesey wash road which regularly floods and it is the only direct through road .It did it again then but the person behind said I was going a bit too fast even though I was in 2nd gear. Any ideas anyone ,please
you will have got water in

get a water proffing kit and a snorkel

I think you have hit the nail on the head, I will see about water proofing for next winter,the body could do with lifting too,good idea and thanks
you can do your lift
you can do your lift yourself, dont go more than, 2 inch or you will need to modify more things such as brake lines, a body lif wont give you more wade depth, just space for bigger tyers which will lift the overall car,

You can go through water in a totally standard fourtrak with it being as deep as half a metre, the trick is to create a bow wave infront of you by driving in slowly and increasing your speed, if your going to fast you will splash water where you don't want it to go, if your not sure about how to 'off road' in a vehicle I highly advise the use of youtube, loads of us from this site are on there doing stuff, not to mention the millions of other vids along this line.
