Materia MP3/AUX socket

Forum:

Hi all,

I know the new Materia's come with a aux/mp3 socket and wondered if the part is available to retro fit for a 2007 model? I phoned my local dealer but they don't seem to have a clue.

I spotted one on a German website but they want 145 euros to ship the UK and I'm not even sure it would do the job.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Paul.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to swap the stereo?

In my opinion swapping the stereo with a new one would be better. The AUX/MP3 socket may not work on the OEM stereo you have fitted now and possibly the newer Materias have a different model of stereo to the 2007 ones. You can get a stereo now a days for under

Yeah I've come to the same

Yeah I've come to the same conclusion. Ok next question anyone removed the radio, if so how and can anyone recommend a DIN adaptor?

Cheers

If it's the same as the YRV.....

I am guessing the plastic surround on the dash will probably need removing, and then behind that you should simply find some screws holding in the unit. As for the connectors, yo may need to get hold of an ISO one. Plenty on E-bay to buy.

Hopefully a fellow Materia owner will be along to give you some better advice. Wink

Well I've spoken to Daihatsu

Well I've spoken to Daihatsu in the UK and they don't do any kit for the in car radio or a DIN adapter to allow the mounting of another unit.

I spotted a replacement DIN adapter on a German site which I think will do the job but it's 97 euros including shipping.

Spoke to various dealers who say head to a car audio shot and see what they suggest.

Talk about painful.
