Hi,
Just purchased a 1993 Charade GXi (G102) petrol fuel injection.

Problem that is bugging me is the Rev counter;

When you switch the engine on, the rev counter needle immeadiately swings round beyound 9000RMP and basicallt goes round till it stops against the plastic. After a bit it will suddenly go up to the 8000RMP mar and may even go slowly towards the 7000 RPM mark.

At no point does it act like a rv counter! I noticed there are various posts about rev counter problems but none with exactly the same symptoms as mine. I have tried re-soldering the connections on the back of the Speedo / Rev counter but no change in the behaviour of the rev counter.

Anybody got any other ideas I can try?
