If anyone is interested, I've registered with the Isle of Man 4wd Club Forum, and a user has mentioned that discounts are available for Club Outings on the ferry (which is usually somewhat expensive, compared to European ferries!).

No firm ideas or dates considered yet (it'll be 2011, anyway - I've just blown my bank balance for the Manx Grand Prix trip I just had!), but the IoM 4WD Club is very active, and can organise (or assist with) everything in the way of map-marking, permits (yep, we'll need them on their green-lanes!) - even break-down/tow-out support for any unfortunate souls (beware the peat bogs! ).

If there's enough interest, I can try to organise/coordinate for a specific event (drive-out, trial, etc) and sort out the necessary bookings. If it's out of the TT/MGP fortnights, I may even be able to throw in very cheap accomodation, though you'll need to be able to 'rough-it' & self cater - a mate's got a hotel over there, currently going through refurb, and maybe able to accomodate. We'll see...

If you haven't visited the IoM before, there's stacks to do; it'll be well worth the effort!
