I wonder if anyone can help with this "should I pay the garage" dilemma....

2003 Hijet Petrol/Lpg 39k

It was a non-starter when I purchased it (no spark/ no power to injectors/no power to ecu, no eml), suspected electrical problem but it's history was unclear.

Took it to a local non-Daihatsu garage auto-electrician for diagnosis and explained that I had never heard it running and that I didn't know it's history.

He fixed the electrical problem by disconnecting the lpg and got a spark etc, but still no start. He checked compression and said he suspected the head gasket and maybe valves burnt out. Quoted
