Sorry these may be some silly questions but Im a new Fourtrak owner and I'm struggling to find some info.
Ive got a '98 TDX Independent but would like to fit a roof rack to carry a canoe. Is this possible? I understand the rear raised roof section is non load bearing. Can I do anything other than get a rather expensive custom made rack which has supports down to the rear plate by the lights?
I have noticed on top of the roof there are metal plugs along each side, are these for any purpose or just part of the moulding.
Thanks

There are roof racks for Fourtrack, but these went out of production many years ago. Your best bet is to try to find a good secondhand one.
They fit at six points along the roof.
The rear had down brackets which fit four drilled holes hidden under the trim each side of the rear door. The front uses four clamps on the gutter over the cab.
If you have a sunroof it will be prevented from opening.
Alternatively you could have a one off made for your vehicle specifically for carrying canoes. Try Dave at Bloodred, he fabricates all sorts for Fourtraks and is intimately knowledgeable about them, and will know exactly where the mounting points are..
