According to various specs online it appears the YRV Turbo has side airbags? There is nothing written anywhere in the car to say so and was wondering if anyone knew if they were actually fitted?
Diahatsudave did you notice anything in your smashed up one? I see you put no side airbag deployment in one of your posts but have you seen the bags in the car?

Seem to recall off Dave on this very subject that the YRV does have side air bags
I am under the impression they are positioned behind the covers for the seat belts but could be wrong, cue Dave

Side airbags
I believe that UK YRVs do not have side airbags, but that in other markets they do.
The side airbags in my other car are mounted in the side of the seats.

Being honest ive never looked where they are but like Jon said i assumed they are behind the seat belt covers.
Looking at a parts diagram they appear to be higher up at the headlining. Look like a thin rod i'm guessing approx 600mm/24" long??
Only stripped some of the interior in my scrap Turbo ...wont be long now before curiosity gets the better

Airbags
I seem to remember reading that in the UK market side and curtain airbags were not fitted. In some other markets they were.
They are not mentioned in any UK brochures.
