Forum:
hi i have a fourtrack fieldman p reg 2.8.i have just had a new altinnator fitted and i found i had a oil leak [oil filter slightly undone] sorted that issue
now i can see oil driping from a bolt protruding from the engine behind the oil filter, and a cable/pipe is atatched to it from the altinator ?.
is this a simple fix or should i not tamper with it .i have toped the oil up [just a tad to much] would this be the prob.as you can probaly tel ime not mechanically minded
any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

Vacuum pump oil feed
Off the top of my head....
The rear of the alternator is actually a vacuum pump, which creates a vacuum for the brake servo - the oil feed is used to lubricate the vacuum pump.
The bolt is probably a banjo type union - it may just need tightening or a new copper washer fitted.
