Forum:
Hi. I've got a problem with my Fog Lamp. It was working fine last time I used it a few months ago. I went to use it on Saturday, nothing happened, then when I was driving along it came on.
Now it won't work at all. The illuminated switch for it doesn't light up. I checked the bulb and it doesn't look blown. Does the illuminated switch light up when there is power to the switch? I.E Would it light up even of the bulb is blown? Where is the fuse for the fog lamp? Its not listed on the box under the drivers side dash. All my other lights are working. Where is the relay located?
If anyone can help with these questions/offer any advice I would be grateful, I've got a 2.5 hour trip tomorrow so ideally would like it working.
Cheers, Ben.
The switch lighting up or not
The switch lighting up or not has nothing to do with whether the lamp it self is opprebal. The swith being lit only shows the switch is getting power, and is in the on position. As for why the lamp itself is not working, I'd guess corrosion of the terminalls in the unit. This is quite ciommon in many bumper mounted lights, due to the amount of water, road salt, etc that getts thrown over them.
Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
The Lamp is fine, no water
The Lamp is fine, no water ect inside. Since the switch isn't lighting up, it must not be getting power, which is why the lamp isn't working. Do you know where the fuse is?
