I have a sirion F-speed auto 2000 year model and it has recently developed an intermitant clunk on the box when you put it in drive! As I said it is intermitant with no pattern ie engine cold or engine hot it can do it when you first start it in the morning or you can drive 70 80 miles before it does it. I have noticed the 'P' light on the dash is flashing intermitantly while in drive and this started about the same time as the 'clunk'. The Clunk can be a gentle or a harsh clunk again not consistant.
I have hasd the car to a garage (None daihatsu) and they got two gearbox fault codes but the nearest Daihatsu dealer 60 miles away is proving dificult to get the diagnosis out of. I suspect the problem is electronic but can anyone advise? The main problem I can see is the Franchised dealer is reluctant to help but I cant take a car 60 miles to leave it and find my own way home then back to collect it. As I only drive auto's I am stuck short of getting rid of the car I dont know what to do next. If any one has any thoughts they will be most welcome.
