Silly Question from a newbie

Forum:

I have limited experience with mechanics but have messed about quite a bit with buggies, motorbikes and big lawn mowers in the past and I am a engineer by trade.

I was in the process of servicing my sportrak today, but when I went to install new spark plugs both of my socket sets only have standard spark sockets that fit regularly plugs, the spark plugs on the Sportrak on sunk deep inside the block and my sockets will not fit into the long shaft.

Can anybody tell me what the correct name of the socket that I need is or send me a link to where I can get one from.

Cheers

Its just a common 10mm

Its just a common 10mm sparkplug socket.....not to be confused with a standard 10mm socket. Sparkplug sockets are measured across the side walls of the hex flats and not the diameter. Think it equals a 16mm standard socket but they are no use due to depth and lacking either a rubber or magnetic retainer to hold the plug in place while being lifted out.

Try Ebay or this company that ive used for stuff

Thank you for the advise, I

Thank you for the advise, I just got a new 10mm socket from the local Motor factors and it worked a treat.
I compared it to my old one and the old one's overall diameter is about 2mm bigger, so the old one has now been checked into the back of the draw now.

Thank you everybody for the advice.
