hello could anyone tell me what the equivalent to 33" tyres are, are they 15/80 or is it 16/80.. at the minute iv got 31/10.5/15 but im after a little more clearence on my fourtrak

first off you need to
first off you need to understand what the numbers refer to
the 31/10.5/15 are an american numbering system the 31 relates to the overall diameter, 10.5 is the width and 15 is the rim diameter....all in inches
european sizing is something like 255/80/15, 255 is the width in millimetres, 80 is the aspect ratio.. the relation of the tire wall height th th width... 80 being a normal tyre and 40 being a low profile with stumpy sidewalls... 15 is the rim size in inches
thats the limit of my knowledge... my fourtrak is on 215/80/15 which is at the small end of the sale , i dont know how they compare with 31/10.5/15

thanks guys.. ill have a look for some 16" rims, but what 16" rims will fit the fourtrak. do land rover etc fit the same 5 stud pattern.. ???

if you can find a set of 16" rims you could get something like 235/80-16 (think thats right, might be 85) anyway this equates to a 32" tyre with narrow width, perfect for pushing through mud with good ground clearance, you can get 33-12.50-15 tyres easy enough but if you want narrower than it gets tricky and expensive without 16" rims. Working out your metric sizes is thus, first number is width in mm, second is a percentage height of the side wall taken from the width, third rim size.
