best option then ?

how to i get to this and whats best option Unknw it just seems like the loom gets lost between the sill and the rear lights?!

Socket

If there is a tow bar then you probably also have a electrical plug to attach a trailer/caravan. A thick black cable enters a round plug or plugs, seen under the rear bumper. These plugs do get corroded and will effect your electrics.
If a plug exists I would open it and look at the wiring where the cables are screwed into the plug. It is likely one of the wires has detached and touching another cable. If in doubt where to re-fix a cable search the web for a wiring diagram showing trailer sockets - two types exist - a recently new EU version for a combined 13 pin socket and an older double (two plugs - one supplies caravan 12v charge/fridge, and other supplies the the trailer indicator/lights/brake lights. The double plug was used on UK cars and trailers. Now on all new vehicles the two sockets are replaced by one 13 pin socket.

no plug

i have looked and i dont have a trailer plug, really giving up on this !

Check a circuit.

I suggest you track one of the circuits ........... if the rear passeneger light is intermitent I would start with that light. Start from the lamp unit and check its earth connection, the work towards the switch. You could test conductivity by using a cable direct from the battery to the lamp '+' unit to test if it works.
If you have s 12v test probe it would make the job much easier.
