Hi.
I've had the car since September and no problem but recently the engine has been sluggish at around 30mph. I can still get good speed out of it but it just doesn't feel right when accelerating.
Is this a common problem with Charades? Car was serviced yesterday and they said it was the spark plugs. Well, they changed those and it is a bit better but something not quite right.
Don't want to take it back there because the dealer is far away.
If it's electric, is there a way of diagnosing which bit is causing it?
Thanks a lot.

Charade 2005 Hesitant Engine
Hi,
To check the electrics I'd suggest getting
hold of an Autel Can OBD2 scan/code tool
Maxi Scan MS300 , maybe up to £25 on eBay.
I've seen garage prices for the using of their posh equipment @ £45 .
The instruction book identifies 1000 faults,
rather more than you want to find.(A universal tool for most modern cars, with some exceptions due to using odd misshapen connectors, check VW & BMW)
Finding where to plug it in can be fun ,
on my YRV the socket is under the dashboard close to the central island , usual fun of lying upside down under the dashboard getting dust in eyes and ears.

Charade 2005 Hesitant Engine
Thanks!
I never knew you could buy this kind of thing.
I just found the socket. The dashboard on the Charade is pretty basic. If I'm not getting any warnings, will this device still tell me if (for example) the alternator is on the blink?
Thanks again,
Ed.
