Hi all, Charade GTti enthusiast and ex Rally 2 owner

Forum:

Just a quick Hi!

My name is Nathan Munns, The name may ring a bell to some of you as i'm very well known with those into the GTti, and i'm the technical man for the GTti owners club. I have owned GTti's since 1993.

I thought I better sign up here with the Daihatsu experiences i have, plus I did buy a brand new Rally 2 in 2004. Ran it for 2 years.

I'm actually looking to buy another Rally (2 or 4) as the prices are now rock bottom, and there does seem to be some nice examples out there if you are prepared to wait/travel and look hard enough!

Maybe one plan for the future, (If i can find a accident damaged YRV Turbo) then i'd like to transplant the engine into a Rally (Rally4 would be best of course for this, to create my own version of the Storia X4!), retaining the Rally manual gearbox.

Hi and Welcome, I beleive

Hi and Welcome,

I beleive you also have a few you tube videos out in relation to your GTTi days? Wink

Also Daihatsu-Dave also knows you, from the conversations we have had in the past? Smile

Anyways, hope you find a nice rally 2 or 4. As Bob has mentioned user wilsofar is selling his at the moment and in a colour I haven't seen before on a Rally.

Managed in the end to get 182bhp out of it at 20psi boost. Car was mainly used to test out various modications to find out what works best whilst staying reliable. Car now scrapped due to chassis rust gone too far, was not safe. The power was pulling it apart.

I have another GTti project on the go (4 years so far of messing about) where the shell is totally rust free, it will be a occasional road use/track/drag racing toy. Stripped out with a cage and all the parts needed to make it embarass most cars on the road! Should be easily capable of sub 14 second quarter miles.

Although top speed wont be up to much as it has low ratio gearbox, 7600 redline in 5th will be about 105-110mph. 5th gear is about same ratio as the standard 4th, 3rd and 4th are much closer ratios.

Yes i know Dave quite well from email chats over the years!

CB60 upgrade

Hi I have an Innocenti Turbo De Tomaso with a CB60 engine which I'm upgrading. I was wondering if anyone have any idea if the CB80 oil pump fits on the CB60 engine as far as I know both engine blocks are the same. This mod is for the simple fact the the CB80 oil pump comes with an oil nozzle attached which sprays oil into the bore. At this link http://www.camskill.co.uk/m6b0s69p557/Diahatsu_OE_Original_Equipment_Genuine_Car_4x4_SUV_Vehicle_Parts_-_Oil_Pump_Sprocket_-_Daihatsu_Charade_GTti_GTxx_G100_993cc_12v_CB70_CB80
one will find what I'm talking about, it would also be very helpful if one could guide me as to I can buy the parts needed?

Regards
