I just wanted to pass on some knowledge about a great product!
Called "Dimple" magnetic drain plugs.
Simple extra protection for your engine/gearbox.
They are ultra strong and effective, unlike many of the other cheaper ones, last for years and years. And temperature stable, so they don't loose their strength in hot oil, unlike the cheaper ones.
Made in USA, And available in all sizes and threads to suit all engines and gearbox drain plugs.
I have got a M12x1.25 for the GTti engine sump, and the gearbox drain plug is M16x1.5mm
I presume most Daihatsu's will be the same, but of course best to check.

Ive got a Project Kics magnetic plug on the sump. I did have a cheap one, like Nathan says are not very good after a while and have little pulling power magnets.
Now notice a tiny bit of sludge like stuff on the end each oil change so it looks like its doing its job
Interestingly the YRV Auto box aready have an inbuilt magnet as standard.
