The last 2 mornings I've started up my sportrak with the EFI engine and shortly after I can hear a quiet whistling noise which lasts 3-5 minutes. It is definitely something pre gearbox as the pitch changes when revving in neutral.
It thought it could be the fanbelt or power steering but it is not a squeaky noise like you normally hear, it's more subtle than that.

I'm posting as I was told that a quiet whine could be a result of part of the cambelt setup (maybe tentioner I don't know). And as I'm aware of my cambelt being slightly less taught than it should be and I don't want aything to go wrong!

There is also a slight hiss from under the bonnet, although this might just be me hearing things that were there before, now that I'm worried!
