4 trak - oil in inter cooler

Forum:

my 4 trak (T reg 53k FSH) developed a small oil leak ahead of the nearside front wheel

I traced this to a loose air hose on the inter cooler; there was a small amount of oil in the pipes and in the inter cooler, which I have cleaned out.

Is this a problem or and if so, what is likely cause and remedy?

its the turbo that causes it

its the turbo that causes it as long as its not excessive, its normal on an intercooled engine.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Yep normal to have a bit in

Yep normal to have a bit in there over long term many thousands of miles.

Now it's clean just keep a eye on it.

If a turbo seal fails then it can get very bad. They can dump oil into the intercooler/inlet or straight into the exhaust.
