Sorry wrong information given last night(due to wife) Daihatsu Rugger was running great, one day it cut out.Noticed a broken fuel pipe replaced both fuel pipes, car run great for approx 100 miles, then cut out and would not start.Eventually got it started using easystart into air filter,Jeep run well for 3-4 weeks then cut out again.Fitted new diesel filter and got it running again and bled it through the injector pipes.Any suggestions would be appreciated Thank You Peem.
fuel problem
Diesels will usually cope with quite a bit of air once they are running, but can be a bastard to start if there is an air leak. As the lift pump is in the pump on the engine it's pulling the fuel up. The analogy is this , you are drinking Coke through a straw. Someone puts a pin in the straw and makes a little hole, all of a sudden you get lots of air bubbles and very little coke. Thats whats happening with your diesel, a tiny leak is letting lots of air in. You just have to go back through what you have already done and find the air leak, it's bound to be just where a metal pipe goes into a rubber pipe, unless one of the rubber pipes is split. By the way whats a rugger? best of luck
