Forum:
Can anybody help please I am having problems getting hold of spark plugs
for the above car any ideas I have tried everywhere the plugs that are in there at the moment are made by Denso of Japan but they do not make this spark plug anymore I have tried ebay contacted Denso of Japan but all they are saying they do not make this anymore.
Has anybody had this problem or know where I might still get hold of these plugs the number is DENSO NDQL22TR-S.
Thanks
Benny
I noticed you mention Denso.
I noticed you mention Denso. Is this your choice of Plug manufacturer? Or are you willing to look at another?
Only reason I ask is that the best plug for our cars in my opinion are NGK. Have you looked on E-bay etc.. For Daihatsu Copen plugs? The first engine in those were 0.6 EJ-DET turbo charged engines, and then later moved to the 1.3 K-VE engine.
What about Daihatsu Charade Plugs?

Benny,
Regarding your spark plug conundrum I think I may have the answer. The plug you have translates to a genuine item part number 90048-51110-000, which then translates to a NGK BKR6E11.
The following urls show my detective work.
This link http://www.globaldenso.com/cgi-bin/global/plug/jpn/4w/4w-plug.cgi?name=OPTI+%2F+CLASSIC&filename=maker4car.csv&action=search shows the translation to the genuine Daihatsu part number.
Then this link http://www.sparkplugcrossreference.co.uk/1231-ngk/1249-daihatsu/90048-51100-000-90048-51100-000-90048-51100-000.html tranlates that into a NGK part number.
Good luck
Phil

Hi Benny,
Just signed in and came across your message. Was intrigued to know what car you have? I believe it may be similar to my car - very rare here. I believe there are only three in the country - definitely my car, a 5 speed manual in silver, and the 4x4 in red.
Does it have the registration J812 xxx? (I wanted it! lol)
If so, it would be good to talk. Technical info is virtually nil
- perhaps we can help each other?
Cheers Optimum

ebay does have a few spare parts, so may be worth checking it out, if you haven't already. Check cost - some astronomical. If parts do not show on UK site, tick for the "Worldwide" search, further down in left hand column.
Any body parts from Japan, if available, have high postal costs.
