Have come across a Fourtrack that Im thinking of buying, only thing is that the gearbox is shot he says. Now this jeep is a turbo one but mine isnt. Can I swap the gearbox over or is there a difference in the two boxes. Also my box grates with second and lately third, Can this be cured when the box is out. I have already tightened the nut on the shaft in the box. Cheers

the gearbox from your...im guessing NA 2.8 diesal will fit but the na gearboxes are slightly lower ratio so plenty of power when coupled to a turbod engine but slower, but if yours is grating, although there actually straightforward to swop over there pretty bloomin heavy without the right gear and I would personally only want to do the job once with a good working box, if I was you, get it rebuilt or another one.
