Forum:
From what I gather, The UK spec YRV Turbo is actually the same as other countries "R", but without the wheels, optional seats, and decals.
Interesting, didn't even know about this model

Nice find there Nathan.
Nice find there Nathan. Always wondered what the Turbo R was. I always thought it was a 4-wheel drive only version of the YRV Turbo.
Those seats don't look right. Looks like there from a 3 door version? Looks like a lever on the seat to pull it forward.
So I take it we in the U.K have the Turbo R then? Without the white dials and the seats?

Yep, looking at engine spec,
Yep, looking at engine spec, we have 2x O2 sensors, and the extra knock sensor, leather covered steering wheel etc.
Maybe they thought against badging it a "Turbo R" just for UK insurance reasons.
Now the steer shift switch on the floor....I think will be a very easy mod to do yourself.
Fit a momentary type switch (loads on ebay for a few quid) into the foot rest, Then 2 wires just splice onto the wires from the original steer shift dash switch.
Then both the original switch, and the new foot rest switch will activate/deactivate steer shift.
I've ordered those decals!
It says those seats are
It says those seats are optional, Quite likely the wheels are as well.
Got the decals, amazing
Got the decals, amazing quality. Going to go out today and stick them on, brave that chilly wind.

I take it you didn't have the U.K Turbo 130 Decals?

I believe mine were removed
I believe mine were removed by the dealer before delivery, on request from the first owner.
Still says "Turbo 130" under the YRV rear badge.
This sign/decal man on ebay is great, He is now sorting out reproducing all the GTti badges on the car. I'm sending him some originals to be scanned.

I got excited then, but i think they mean the gear lever selector is floor mounted (i.e. its normal place) rather than on the steering column (like some yrvs - and yank cars) as opposed to the steershift. Good idea though!! I HATE having to press that stupid button all the time

Yes you ae right, But the steershift button is still in crappy place.
It's very easy to do, I've got my switch ready, just got remove and drill hole in footrest to fit the switch, or may mount it on dashboard between steering wheel and door.
