Oil Pressure Sender T-piece adaptor for Charade

Forum:

The kind of thing that people use when they want to fit a mechanical oil pressure guage while retaining the original oil pressure warning light sender

I don't actually want it for that, but to plumb in an oil accumulator, but I think it'd do the job.

Anyone know the correct size etc specification for a Charade? I'll probably have to get it posted to Taiwan (very difficult for me to find stuff like that here) so it'd be nice if it fit first go.

That's what I'm using on my

That's what I'm using on my YRV Turbo. Oh and make sure you have some decent sealant as well for the plug holes. It has taken me a couple of goes to stop some oil leaks because of this.

Oil Filter Adapter Sandwich Plate

Thinking aout it some more, if I understand the way these work, the ports access the oil stream from the pump, upstream of the oil filter, and corresponding to its outer ring.

If that's right it doesn't seem optimum for my purpose (though it'd probably work a bit). I want to tap into the system upstream of the oil filter (corresponding to its central, axial exit flow) so I can pressurise the bearings.

This seems to imply that a T-piece would be better.

Much easier to use a adapter

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I've seen pictures of the adapter plates, tho I dunno if I'll be able to get one to fit locally (that ebayer ses he'll post worldwide and then lists just about everywhere, including SE Asia where I'm at, under exclusions)

I also wonder how truly "universal" it is. I'd assume the engine block mounting surfaces vary a lot, otherwise oil-filters would be fully interchangeable.

Excuse my ignorance, but does the 3/4-16 UNF thread fitting you refer to above describe the ports, or the threaded spiggot that the spin-on canister goes on to?

I thought I'd prefer a T-piece because its likely to be cheaper to buy and post, and I've a feeling (without actually knowing)that it might be a more "universal" fitting, since I'd like the kit to be transferrable to another car without great expense.

OTOH, the adaptor gives two ports, so I could fit something else, like a bypass filter, which otherwise would require a T off the line.So I dont rule it out.
