Forum:
Hi I just been given a Rocky (petrol) by the local farm as it failed its mot over a year ago and been standing around ( so going to use it for off roading). So I filled it up with fresh petrol and clean sparks plugs etc, did a little service before starting. However the fuel dos not seem to be pumping through. Spraying petrol directly into carb it runs fine. took the pump off and that seems to be fine but nothing coming through. Took both filters off ( no idea why there is two) and connect to pump but not to carb but still nothing). There is an immobiliser but there is is no light on it, put the little plug type key in before starting, sill no fuel. I have blown back the pipe and bubbles can be heard in tank? so my son says. Has anyone please got any other suggestions? as was wondering if the immobiliser is preventing the fuel from coming through somehow? many thanks Gary
If its got a mechanical fuel
If its got a mechanical fuel pump fitted the valves dry and become stuck as they need fuel to lubricate them.
Remove the body screws and you will see the two tiny valves under the diagphram, remove them and clean in petrol, refit them and fill the pump with fuel and ensure it does not dry out again.
