Forum:
Hi all !
New to the forum and i have a problem already which i am sure someone will be able to help me with !
OK i am about to buy a 1997 sportrak 1.6 limited, all is fine except i plan on taking this overseas to eastern europe, its basicly a present for my partners parents so am going to drive it over and leave it there for them, however i have one small problem, for it to pass there equiv to the MOT the headlights have to LHD versions, i can add the sticky stick on headlight converters but that will only get it through the first year, the second year it has to have proper LHD lights, problem i am finding is to where to get some, i'v been on ebaay for two days and cant find any anywhere.
Am i right in saying that the sportrak was the UK name for the Feroza ???? saying that upon looking at the two cars the fronts are diffrent, lamps and grills are totaly diffrent.
o question is where can i get a set of LHD lights or do i have to do front conversion, grill and lights ???? if i do is it a straght forward swap over ????
Look forward to any replys and help, now getting desprete to sort out as going next month.
Thanks in advance
Tez
lhd lights
You are correct the sportrak is called the Feroza in Europe, but also search on F300 which is the model and also brings up results.
Early models have oblong lights, later ones have angled lights, but I'm pretty sure the early and late ones would fit either model if you changed the grille as well to match the lights you have.
There are millions of sportrak / feroza videos on youtube from europe, so there must be loads of them parked up somewhere.
Try searching on ebay.es spain, ebay.fr france, ebay .de germany, etc etc. There are 15 pages of results under FEROZA in spain for example.
Some models have the ability
Some models have the ability to convert their headlights for LHD and RHD, but not all; this is done with a lever or similar on the back of the headlight. First you will need someone more knowledgeable on these headlights than me, and who can show you if yours have them fitted, and where they are.
