Hi,
My T-reg Fourtrak gets to use 4WD about 4 times a year (I've had it about 7 years).

This morning in the snow, I drove with 2WD along the gritted village road and parked down a snowy drove to walk the dogs.

Back to car, read the instructions on inside of driver's door panel, with ignition off I pressed the 4H button on right of the dashboard, then turned the key in the ignition to start the engine but no lights came on the dashboard (not the diesel prestarter or any other lights that usually come on). Starter motor turned over and battery strong.

Fiddled about and found the gauge fuse had blown. Fitted a spare. Unpressed the 4H button and turned key - all worked normally and car started, drove home in 2WD.

We live up a steep driveway... so at bottom of drive, switched off engine, this time engaged 4WD lever (next to gear lever), then turned key. Again, fuse blew so no lights on dashboard and no ignition, just starter motor turning over.

Replaced fuse again (lucky I had 2...) and then started in 2WD and took a fast run up the driveway in first gear and made it.

So ... any ideas what could be causing the gauge fuse to blow if I engage 4WD please?
