Hello every body , just a couple of questions i have . I had somebody take the head off my 1998 Hijet van (998cc petrol) due to headgasket failure. now he has decided that he can't complete the work . so i recovered the van back to mine so i can get it on the road a use it cos im loosing money being self employed . in the back of the van is the head and all other parts all jumbled up . no ive done head gaskets before so i think i know how to apporace it , but i just want to know if ive got the basics right . ive found the TDC marks one on the crank is a dimple with an pointer below (at approx 6 o'clock) and the one on the head is at 3o'clock . questins are 1) where should the rotor arm be pointing at TDC? . 2) what are the tourque tighting settings for the head bolts and how many stages are there? .3) what are the settings for the tappetts when cold ?(both exhaust and inlet) any help would be useful cos at the moment i can't see how he marked up TDC when it was out with his marks (painted) , so i don't know what else he has got wrong .also at some stage ill need a diagram of the hoses and where they go cos there loads of breather pipes in the back that have just been chucked around .
