Forum:
Hello all, im new here so go easy
I've just bought a Sportrak and I took it out for the first time today and I have somehow managed to snap one of the rear leaf springs...reversing of my drive  And the one on the other side looks tired aswell...its more or less straight
I've had a look on eBay and found these:
Anyone Know of these? Any other recommendations?
The ones on the sporty now are single leaf so would I need anything else to convert them to Multi?
Also, the heater controls do not light up....is this just how they are or has the bulb(s) gone?
sorry for all the questions and thanks for advance
I apologies if im going over old threads here but i have searched the site and found some threads but they are from a while ago and the links Dont work.
Thanks again
Regards
Dean
Heater controls don't light
Hello and welcome. The heater controls don't light up on mine, I'm afraid you've just got to learn where they are which isn't too bad as they're nice and chunky.
As for the leafs I expect that someone else will know for sure but here's some information to get you started
http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/76
There's a fair few spares to be found here
http://www.japanese4x4spares.co.uk/daih-sport.html
including leaf springs at about £30 cheaper (assuming similar shipping costs)
They also give you the option of 'heavy duty' leafs. I'm afraid I've no idea as to the quality of either of these items.

[EDIT] Milner do them as well, will the car be use more off road or on road? I have read previously that the milner ones are more suited to road driving.

Thanks for that Car will be
Thanks for that
Car will be used more on road as a daily but will be used off road often aswell so Dont want to compromise its offroad ability, the only onroad will be to work and back daily and its not that far to drive, so I can compromise on ride for a bit more axle articulation ect
Thanks again
My Sportrak has a similar
My Sportrak has a similar life in terms of on/off road use. I would love a bit more clearance beneath the leafs so it's worth looking into what's best. Softer springs are meant to be be better off road but I'm not sure if they suffer a slightly lower ride.
You may have all ready read this post but it contains a fair amount of imformation
http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/13395
the 'Bloodred' springs that they refer to seem to have been removed from their website at the moment along with a fair few other sportrak products. If anybody knows why or if they have just moved I'd be interested to know.
Cheers all for the welcomes
Cheers all for the welcomes and the advice, It is appreciated.
I've ordered the ones of eBay, Im hoping there here by Friday as I need the car to get to work and Dont think that driving with a broken leaf is advisable
ive driven with broken leaves
ive driven with broken leaves before, you doo it without realising sometimes, obviously bit risky, if you have spares you can rebuild them easy enough but you cant beat new.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Leaf Springs
I replaced one of mine 10 years back, same problem. I got one from Milners and it has been perfect. I mainly do road driving so couldn't comment on off road.
