My first post and afraid it is a problem query.
We have a 1998 Charade 1.3 Automatic that son uses mostly now. He 'phoned today to say that it kicked down into 3rd OK but will now not kick back up into 4th. Other gears are OK but it just won't change up to top gear. Mileage is about 55k and service up to date. First thoughts are that he finds somewhere on Tuesday to drain and refill the autobox ( in Plymouth this weekend ) to see if that helps. I assume a competent garage could do this, it's not a specialist job
Other than that I am at a loss. It just is not worth a hefty gearbox repair considering the non-value of the old car.
Any other suggestions as to what the problem might be ???
